What is Remote Learning

Since the New York City schools are closed. The DOE (Department of Education) will be transitioning from physical learning to Remote Learning Model.

What does that mean?

It means all students will be learning from home. The DOE encourages families to create/ set up a Student Account. Setting up a student account will allow students to be connected to Google Classroom. For remote learning families need access to either a laptop or tablet. If you are a family in need of a device, the DOE has a request form for families to fill out. To get a Remote Learning Device click here. If you need help filing out the form please contact us at 718.302.4314 and for Spanish speaking families call 718.302.4315

When will it start?

Starting next week March 23rd. For this week; school administration and personal will be contacting families to figure out a way that all students can get live instruction. When we say "all students" that "all" includes students with disabilities.

Speaking of... Students with disabilities....

The Department of Education chancellor has stated they are working on figuring out away to provided the services mandated on each student's IEP remotely. The DOE has what can be done at home while they figure out a way to support students with disabilities. When you are on that page the DOE has tabs of ideas, supports and guides for each related service Click here for more information.
